Up until the sit and wait clinics were introduced a little over 2 months ago this surgery was excellent - could see your gp usually within 10 days if you wanted a pre-booked appointment which was workable.
Now it is at least a 3 week wait to see any doctor - not even your own. Very few bookable appointments at all. I recently had hand surgery and was signed off by the hospital for 2 weeks. The day I came home, I tried to book a GP appointment for when the fit note expired as I knew it was unlikely I would be able to drive to work - I could only get a phone consultation. The GP spent most of the consultation insisting that the hospital should be signing me off from work before finally issuing the fit note for 1 week. He also advised I should go back and see him after this if I needed restrictions put on work duties - are the doctors not aware that you can't get an appointment for 3 weeks!
I don't see a GP very often but this system is making it near impossible to see one at all and only encourages people to go to out of hours GP's or A & E!

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to make a comment on our practice - we welcome your constructive feedback. Patients who require an urgent, on the day appointment can see a doctor. At the moment we are experiencing increased waiting times for routine appointments with some doctors. However, we are making adjustments to the appointment system and will be increasing the number of routine appointments. We welcome your comments and would like to hear what you think about our overall service, including those provided by our practice nurses.

I think the negative reviews on here are not a true reflection of this surgery. I usually manage to book a non urgent appointment with about a week's lead time which I think is reasonable. I do this online and it's all very quick and easy. I have needed urgent same day appointments recently and yes while sitting and waiting is not ideal if you want to be seen the same day I don't see there would be any other alternative. With regards reception staff I have found them pleasant and accommodating. Yes some of the GPs are certainly better than others but I have recently found a Dr I am extremely happy with.
